THE STUDIO:

The studio is located right next to the Hoboken Path Station. The studio is bright and welcoming right when you walk in. They have a retail section with a variety of brands and styles to choose from. They also offer a locker room with 3 showers, which include all shower products, as well as blow dryers, hair products, and more for you to use!

One of my favorite things probably isn’t a big deal to many but they have Keurig machine for you to use before or after class. It is my favorite thing, especially when I take the early morning classes. The studio is gorgeous and you can tell the staff really cares about the aesthetic the studio presents to clients.

THE CLASS:

There are a variety of classes you can take at The Bar Method, but my go to is the classic bar method class. This a 60 minute full body, low impact class that incorporates all of the classic bar method moves. The reason I love barre is that it focuses on isometric movements to strengthen and burn out each muscle, followed by stretching to reshape and lengthen your muscles. The class is great for all levels as the instructor will give you modifications, as well as advancements for you to take.

The one thing I will say is to see benefits, you have to be consistent with it. I would recommend barre style classes at least 3 times a week to really see the benefits of it. These are some of the benefits I have seen from barre:

  • Transform muscles while burning fat
  • The low impact movements build strength throughout entire body without bulking up
  • The interval stretches throughout class allow for increased flexibility
  • Improves metabolism and balance

BOTTOM LINE:

I have been coming here for about a year now and will continue to! While I am someone who loves high intensity cardio workouts, I love adding barre into my routine to switch it up and work my body in a different way. If you haven’t tried barre yet, you should definitely tried your first class at The Bar Method Hoboken!
